The Architects

My previous artworks have focused on the narrow framework through which, I believe, we are permitted to navigate. The Architects series imagines with scornful pleasure those who built this dehumanizing maze of bureaucracy, categorization and limitations.

This autumn, 2011, the developed world broke into protest asking why 1% of its population carries an inordinate percentage of wealth and power. The protestors are revolting against unknown oppressors. Though we recognize the existence of a system set up for us by objectifying forces, we cannot yet envision the designers. They are innumerable, anonymous, hidden in small print, protected by their own edifices.

Those who remain undefined and invisible can only be imagined as they are felt; as absurd monsters, as heartless committees appraising human subjects, as infants, as greedy mouths. Please enjoy these likely approximations of the Architects at work.
